Am I allowed to take a pet on board when flying with Qatar Airways ?

Only falcons and service dogs can accompany the owner in the passenger cabin:

Falcons –  subject to arrangement, travel accompanied in the Economy Class only

Service Dogs - Qatar Airways permits free of charge carriage of a service dog or an emotional support or psychiatric service dog to accompany you in the passenger cabin on the following flight routings only:

  1. Direct Qatar Airways flights between points in the USA and Doha, in both directions;
  2. Direct Qatar Airways flights connecting at Doha, to or from Qatar Airways flights between the USA and Doha, in both directions, for example, from Bombay to Doha to Houston. Such journeys must be booked as one through journey. This includes Qatar Airways / United Airlines codeshare flights;
  3. Direct Qatar Airways flights between the USA and Doha, in both directions, which connect as through journeys from/to cities in the USA, Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean South and Central America to / from cities served by Qatar Airways direct flights between the USA and Doha.

   N.B.

  1. Service dogs or emotional support or psychiatric service dogs will not be accepted on any other Qatar Airways flight. Please see detailed conditions regarding carriage of service dogs.
  2. Service dogs are those dogs that assist their owners with a disability e.g. seeing eye dogs for persons with visual impairment.

How do I transport other pets or livestock?

All pet animals with the exception of falcons and service dogs, must be transported as checked baggage in the hold, if customers wish to travel on the same flight.

All other animals and livestock must be carried as freight. For further details on carriage of livestock, tropical fish, day old chicks, pets, small mammals and birds, contact your nearest Qatar Airways Cargo office or visit qatarairwayscargo.com.
