How do I retrieve the header of an email?

In case you receive a fraudulent email that appears to be from Qatar Airways, we recommend you extract the header of the email and submit it to us, as this helps our security team to investigate the source of the fraud / scam, and take appropriate action against it. The article below describes how to extract the email header for different email software.

Webmail providers

Gmail
1.Log in to Gmail.
2.Right-click on the message containing the headers you want to see.
3.Click the down arrow next to Reply, at the top-right of the message pane.
4.Select Show original. The full headers display in a new window.

Hotmail
1.Log in to your Hotmail account.
2.Select Inbox from the left-side menu.
3.Right-click on the message containing the headers you want to see and select View message source. The full headers display in a new window.

Yahoo! Mail
1.Log in to your Yahoo! Mail account.
2.Right-click on the message containing the headers you want to see.
3.Click Actions > View Full Header. The full headers display in a new window.

For Yahoo! Classic Mail
1.Select and open the email.
2.At the very bottom-right of the email, select Full Header. The full headers display in a new window.

AOL
1.Log in to your AOL account.
2.Right-click on the message containing the headers you want to see.
3.Select View Message Source. The full headers display in a new window.

Email clients

Mozilla Thunderbird
1.Open Mozilla Thunderbird.
2.Right-click on the message containing the headers you want to see.
3.Click the View > Headers > All. The full headers display in a new window.

Apple Mail (Mac OS X)
1.Open Apple Mail.
2.Right-click on the message containing the headers you want to see.
3.Go to the View menu.
4.Select Message > Long Headers. The full headers display in the window below your inbox.

Outlook 2003/2007
1.Open Outlook.
2.Right-click on the message in the message list.
3.Select Message Options. The full message headers display in the Internet headers section.

Outlook 2010
1.Open Outlook.
2.Double-click on the message containing the headers you want to see.
3.Click the File Tab at the top, then choose Properties.
4.The full headers display in a new window.

Eudora
1.With the message open, click the blah blah blah button at the top of the message box.
2.The full headers display in a new window.

Opera
1.Open Opera.
2.Click the message containing the headers you want to see so it displays in the window below your inbox.
3.Click Display all headers, across from the To field. The full headers display in the window below.
